Half a billion crowns to The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) will support Czech companies that want to produce energy from biomass. As part of the RES – biomass activity, the MIT has announced the first call from the Operational Programme Technologies and Applications for Competitiveness (OP TAK). The programme with an allocation of 500 million crowns was created in cooperation with CZ Biom – the association for biomass energy, and the support naturally also applies to agricultural enterprises. Applications will be possible from January 9, 2025 to January 9, 2026.

” We see the basis of the future of the Czech energy sector telemarketing data in the core and development of renewable sources. That is why we are also focusing on supporting the transition of Czech companies from fossil fuels. The supported activities of the current call include the construction of heat sources from biomass, including combined heat and power generation, and the delivery of heat to the point of consumption. Thanks to this, they can be more energy self-sufficient, reduce their operating costs and at the same time contribute to environmental protection,” commented the Minister of Industry and Trade Lukáš Vlček on the announcement of the 1st call from the Operational Programme Technology and Applications for Competitiveness (OP TAK) . With an allocation of CZK 500 million, this call aims to strengthen the use of biomass as one of the key tools for the decarbonization of the energy sector.
A significant program for entrepreneurs
The OP TAK 2021–2027 program is one of the key European understand what it is and how to invest wisely in your advertising programs to support entrepreneurs. Supported projects include the construction of biomass heat sources and heat extraction, the construction of combined heat and power sources (including steam turbine or ORC systems and gasification heat and power plants), the expansion of biogas plants with cogeneration production and heat extraction from existing biogas plants.
The level of support will be provided depending on the size of the company and the type of eligible expenses from 30% to 65%. The total eligible expenses for the project must be at least eight million crowns and a maximum of 300 million crowns .
Exemplary interdepartmental cooperation
Energy biomass has a future
Solid biomass will remain a classic renewable resource in the fax lead future, with a neutral balance in terms of greenhouse gas emissions . During their life cycle, plants accumulate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and fix it in their biomass. The subsequent energy use of this biomass releases an equivalent amount of carbon into the atmosphere that was absorbed by the plant. This significantly differs from fossil fuels such as coal.
Growing woody plants (RRD) grown on agricultural land also remain a source of energy wood.
